Responsibilities:
1. Draft and review a full range of commercial contracts and legal documents in Africa, Middle East, and any other applicable jurisdiction;
2. Provide legal advice on major projects to all internal departments and overseas offices on multi-national jurisdictions;
3. Supervise corporate compliance in different jurisdictions, such as Africa and Middle East, with internal policies and external licensing and regulatory requirements;
4. Liaise with external professionals and other regulatory bodies;
5. Follow up disputed cases (Litigation, Arbitration and outstanding payment), Trademark management;
Requirements:
1. Law degree holder from a recognized university;
2. Qualified lawyer admitted to South Africa bar or in any other jurisdiction;
3. Legal working experience is necessary for the position, and a legal counsel with working experience gained from the telecommunications industry as well as experience and knowledge in best practices related to legal and compliance matter is preferred;
4. Excellent negotiation, written and oral communications skills with different people including senior management;
5. Good command of written and spoken English, and Chinese. English language proficiency with IELTS scores of 7 or more is preferred;
6. Work place is in South Africa.
